A three-week rash of sexual assaults in Hyderabad has raised worries about women's safety, prompting requests for greater protections, speedier trials, and more assistance. In order to reduce crimes against women, police are increasing SHE Teams and patrols.

Hyderabad: Many women in the city worry about commuting alone, working before dawn, or coming home late at night. A three-week sequence of sexual offenses in the city has again raised concerns about women's safety.

Recent cases involving women and children from different backgrounds have highlighted safety concerns in homes, workplaces, schools, and public spaces.

The episodes have also raised concerns about gender-based violence prevention, including enhanced institutional protections, victim assistance, and public awareness.

Meanwhile, women's rights groups and social activists have asked the State government to speed up sexual offense investigations and trials and improve victim counseling and rehabilitation.

Hyderabad Police are strengthening SHE Teams, surveillance, special patrols, and complaint response to reduce crimes against women. Officials claimed SHE Teams swiftly addressed all complaints and took legal action as required.

Police encourage women experiencing harassment or abuse to report occurrences promptly to ensure anonymity and prompt support.
