For House No. 13 in Satya Niketan, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has issued a demolition order under Section 348 of the DMC Act, stating that the property is hazardous and destructive.
The owner or occupant has been instructed to demolish the property within three days of receiving the notice, which was issued on September 6. The MCD threatened to carry out the demolition and collect the costs incurred as property tax arrears if the order was not followed.
According to the notification, the inhabited space at Building/House No. 13, Satya Niketan, New Delhi, was discovered to be in a "ruinous/dangerous condition." It further stated that the building's state presented a risk to residents, visitors, and occupants of the building as well as those in the neighborhood.
According to the MCD, the demolition order was issued by the Executive Engineer using authority granted by the Commissioner under Section 348 of the DMC Act, 1957, read with Section 491 of the Act. (IANS)
