In a park close to Delhi's Kalkaji Mandir, three guys dressed as police officers gang-raped a 17-year-old girl. Two of the suspects are still at large, while one was taken into custody following a police contact.

New Delhi: Three men pretending to be police officers gang-raped a 17-year-old girl in a park close to Delhi's Kalkaji Mandir, according to authorities.

The girl and her friend visited Kalkaji Mandir on Monday at approximately 7 p.m., according to the officials.

Around 7:30 p.m., after praying at the temple, the two went to a local park. The complainant claims that three defendants, who were between 25 and 30 years old, approached them and claimed to be police officers.

The males allegedly raped the girl and intimidated the two, according to officials.

According to the police, a squad arrived at the scene after receiving a PCR call about the rape at the park next to Kalkaji Mandir and ISKCON Temple at 8:45 p.m.

Asif, one of the accused, was later taken into custody after a run-in with the law.

According to officials, Asif was shot and is presently undergoing medical attention.

While the other two suspects are still being sought after, an investigation is in progress.

This occurs just days after a sixth-grade kid who had been shackled and had her hands and legs tied was sexually abused inside a store in the Sadar Bazaar neighborhood of Delhi.

At the time of the occurrence, the child had reportedly gone out to buy stationery. The accused allegedly enticed her into a nearby store at this period, when she was held and sexually abused.

According to officials, the event was discovered when police got a PCR call on the evening of September 16 about a shopkeeper's suspected sexual assault of a little girl.

The accused, Maqsood, 56, was taken into custody, according to the police. After following the proper legal process, he was placed in judicial custody the same day after his arrest.

Another incidence surfaced earlier on September 13. Four people, including three minors, gang-raped and killed a teenage girl in Delhi. According to the police, the suspects then left the girl's body in a public place.

It was later discovered that stray dogs had consumed parts of the victim's decomposing body.

The girl's badly decomposed body was found next to a field along Kushak Road in the Swaroop Nagar neighborhood of North Delhi on September 13, according to police. Police were initially unable to identify the victim's gender due to the state of the body.

Following a comprehensive investigation, four individuals involved in the incident—three of whom were minors—were taken into custody.

The most recent event has highlighted the lack of protection for women and girls as well as the bad state of law and order in the nation's capital.
