Hyderabad: Keesara residents set off fireworks outside the Keesara police station on Thursday, hours after Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) agents arrested an inspector and a sub-inspector in connection with an alleged Rs 5 lakh bribery.

The odd celebration occurred following the arrest of Keesara Inspector Arkapally Anjaneyulu and Sub-Inspector Dyapa Gnanender Reddy. A large crowd gathered outside the station and burst crackers, showing the local community's relief at the ACB intervention.

According to an ACB official, Reddy was arrested on Wednesday nite for allegedly collecting Rs 5 lakh from a complaint. The money was purportedly gathered on Anjaneyulu's directions.

The ACB stated that the bribe was allegedly demanded in exchange for giving station bail to the complainant and showing him favor in a PDS case.
