A Rajendranagar court sentenced a Bengaluru leather merchant to life in jail on Friday for murdering his business colleague in Attapur in 2017.
The convict, Nisar Ahmed, was ordered to pay a ₹15,000 fine.
In April 2017, Nisar Ahmed and the victim rented a flat in Sajid Residency in Santosh Nagar Colony. A few days later, the apartment watchman smelled a terrible scent from the closed flat. It opened to reveal the victim's decaying body in the bathroom with head injuries and a rope around his neck.
Police said Nisar Ahmed murdered his business partner after a quarrel and left after locking the unit. His arrest followed.
