Aaditya Thackeray of the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Anil Deshmukh of the NCP (SP) have been served a ₹500 crore legal defamation notice by Satish Salian, the father of the late Disha Salian, who was the manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.


The notice seeks to accuse the leaders of trying to depict Satish Salian's pursuit of justice for his daughter as "politically motivated, malicious, and actuated by an ulterior object."
Requirements: Satish Salian has asked for a public, written apology that is broadcasted across major media outlets and a video apology that is placed on their official social media pages. The video should be at least three minutes long.
The politicians' remarks, according to the notice, misrepresented the fact that the CBI had already examined the case and cleared Aaditya Thackeray.


After plunging from a skyscraper in Malad, Mumbai, on June 8, 2020, 28-year-old Disha Salian died. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed just six days after that.
Before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a First Information Report (FIR) under sections pertaining to murder and criminal conspiracy, the Mumbai Police had filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR).
Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, Rhea Chakraborty, and concerned medical personnel are among the persons named in the CBI FIR as having responsibilities that need to be investigated.

Aaditya Thackeray published a denial of knowledge and acquaintance with Disha Salian on X (formerly Twitter).
He accused those involved in the official re-investigation of engaging in a "deliberate, evidence-free attempt at character assassination" with political goals in mind, and he demanded that the probe move on without interference.
