The Nagpur Crime Branch stopped a truck that was transporting 39,000 phony alcohol bottles.
The recovered alcohol is valued at Rs 15.60 lakh, and the impounded truck is worth Rs 13 lakh.
One of the drivers, Abdul Tausif Abdul Hafiz, has been arrested; another suspect remains at large.
The shipment originated in Dhule and was bound for Gadchiroli.
A case has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.

A police spokesman said that a truck carrying 39,000 fake alcohol bottles was stopped by the Nagpur Crime Branch on Sunday. According to a member of the Crime Branch's Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad, this operation disrupted an illegal supply chain that was on its way to Gadchiroli.



390 crates of liquor bottles valued at Rs 15.60 lakh were skillfully concealed beneath the car, which was first packed with plastic rubbish. The value of the seized truck is Rs 13 lakh. The driver of the vehicle, Abdul Tausif Abdul Hafiz, 34, has been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Another suspect who is currently at large is Ankush, also known as Anna Sudhakar Kuchanwar (38). The driver who was apprehended informed the authorities that the illicit package originated in Dhule and was intended for delivery to Gadchiroli. Excise officials found that the alcohol was counterfeit after conducting a preliminary examination. A case has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.
