While cleaning a plot in Bengaluru, workers discovered the murder of a 28-year-old woman.

When workers discovered a woman's body during the Bengaluru civic body's usual clean-up campaign of abandoned plots, it became a dramatic murder investigation.

The murder of a 28-year-old woman who was allegedly killed by her husband and her body disposed of at an abandoned location has been solved by the Sampigehalli police.

Bihar native Sagar Chandra Rawat, 32, has been detained on suspicion of killing his wife, Anasuya Behera, 28.

According to reports, the pair came to Bengaluru just a few months ago after getting married. Anasuya worked at a clothes store, and Rawat was employed at a hotel.

The couple regularly fought about money problems, according to the police. After another dispute on August 11, Rawat allegedly attacked Anasuya and killed her by strangulation.

Rawat allegedly kept his wife's body at their home for three days following the murder. After that, he covered the body with a sheet, placed it on a bed, and disposed of it at an empty location in the Sampigehalli region.

Police believe the accused then spent a few days at the location to see if anyone had found the body.

On September 2, almost 20 days after the murder, the decomposing body was discovered while the empty property was being cleaned. While cleaning the plot, the workers tripped over the woman's body. By then, chunks of the body had apparently been consumed by stray dogs.

A Clothing Tag Offers an Important Hint
Determining the woman's identification was challenging because the body was unrecognizable. The inquiry relied heavily on a garment tag that was discovered on the body. Police were able to identify Anasuya by tracking the purchase to a mall.

Her spouse was still showing up for work at the hotel as usual, investigators discovered. Police discovered the couple's regular arguments while conducting inquiry at the motel.

After that, Rawat was arrested and interrogated. During questioning, he allegedly admitted to the murder, according to the police.

After discovering the body, Sampigehalli police detained the accused within a week, and he was placed under judicial detention.

According to locals, the body wasn't found until workers started clearing the empty site in accordance with directives given as part of the civic authorities' effort to tidy up empty plots.
