Sangareddy: A suspected refrigerator short circuit caused a flat fire on Monday, damaging clothing, cash, and other items.
The event occurred around 6 am on the first floor of Gayathri Srinivasam Apartment in Pothireddypally. The fire started after Santosh Yadav, the flat owner, departed while his wife, Leela, remained home. Neighbors helped her call the fire department. Leela was unharmed.
The fire crew stopped the fire from spreading, but all the flat's belongings were burned. The loss is estimated at Rs 50 lakh.
