PUNE: According to police, a multi-vehicle collision on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway close to Dhayari Bridge resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to 12 others. Senior inspector Sharad Ambegave stated that the incident occurred near Jambhulwadi, in front of Lakshmi Lodge at Dhayari Bridge, under the authority of Ambegaon Police Station.

A lorry en route from Satara to Pune collided with the back of a tempo in front of it. Subsequent to the collision, both automobiles veered onto the roadway proceeding from Mumbai to Satara and collided with two vehicles traversing the route. The automobiles incurred significant damage in the collision.

Authorities said that twelve individuals sustained injuries, with three being in severe condition. Hridaynath Mohan Gaikwad and Anandibai Ramchandra Wadkar perished from their injuries under medical care. The wounded are being treated at Bharati Hospital, Morya Hospital, Silver Birch Hospital, and Shreyas Hospital.

The Ambegaon Police have filed a complaint, CR No. 392/2026, invoking many provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act. Measures have been commenced against truck operator Pramod Vitthal Wagh and vehicle proprietor Sandeep Gorakh Suryavanshi. Law enforcement has apprehended the proprietor of the truck.

The flow of traffic at the accident location has been reinstated, but the Ambegaon Police are pursuing additional inquiries.
