Two Juvenile Males Arrested Following Call for Shots Fired

At about 11:11 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, Officers assigned to District B-3 (Dorchester/Mattapan) made an on-site arrest of a 16-year-old juvenile male of Dorchester on firearm charges, and a 15-year-old were arrested on violation of traffic laws at the intersection of Erie Street and Ellington Street.

Officers responded to the area of Helen Street for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on the scene and located ballistic evidence on Helen Street.  Officers were able to determine that multiple scooters were seen fleeing the area. Officers found the above two individuals operating a scooter in the area of Washington Street and Brinsley Street. Officers followed the scooters and observed the scooter lose control and strike a parked vehicle.  Officers chased both males on foot, observing the 16-year-old male make a throwing motion as he fled.  Officers were able to place both males in custody without incident and recovered a loaded firearm from the flight path of the 16-year-old juvenile male.

The firearm was determined to be a Colt .38 Special loaded with five (5) .38 caliber rounds.

The 16-year-old juvenile male is to be arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile court on Delinquent to wit Charges of Unlawful Possession of a firearm, Unlawful Possession of ammunition, and carrying a loaded firearm.

The 15-year-old is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court on Delinquent to wit charges of Failure to stop for a police officer, not wearing a helmet, and operating the wrong way on a one-way street.
