ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, announced today that Travis Aguilar was arraigned on an indictment charging him with assault on a federal officer. Aguilar, 31, of Santo Domingo Pueblo, New Mexico, and an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Santo Domingo, will remain in custody pending trial, which has not been scheduled. According to the indictment, on Nov. 10, 2021, Aguilar allegedly forcibly assaulted an officer of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) while the officer was engaged in official duties.
