Aroostook County Man Pleads Guilty to Importing Methamphetamine from Canada

You are here FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Friday, September 30, 2022 BANGOR, Maine: A Calais man pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Bangor today to importing methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Darcie N. McElwee announced. According to court records, Victor Sousa, 23, crossed from the U.S. into Canada via the Madawaska Port of Entry on July 2, 2019. When he re-entered the country a few hours later, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered 93 pills hidden in his underwear. The pills had the word “ICE” imprinted on them and later tested positive for methamphetamine. Sousa agreed to be interviewed by law
